It’s officially summer and we are not complaining. Finally, it is time to say goodbye to cozy sweaters, sweatshirts, cardigans and even boring basics. Sure, we have heard about the fashion trends / aesthetics such as old money, mob wife, office siren, E-girl, Y2K, “coastal grandma” and many more which have become quite popular recently. Since some these micro trends have gained its popularity from TikTok and Instagram up to some  extend these fashion trends; feels as if they have become a personality of so many trend setters and followers. 

This season, we are not keeping anything basic, either we have some play going on with fabrics or silhouettes. This summer we are not just sticking to summer dresses, linen shirts and cotton pants. Here are some of the fashion trends which are going viral after many brands released their Spring and Summer collection. 

1. “Grandpa Core”

The eclectic grandpa style, also known as “grandpa core”, embraces the concept of intentional slowing down. It focuses on valuing the sensible aspects of life and investing in timeless, high-quality pieces. Comfort is also a crucial element of this trend. This style captures the spirit of vintage fashion with a modern twist, taking cues from your grandfather's wardrobe. This aesthetic is defined by loose-fitting silhouettes, cozy fabrics, warm, vibrant colours, it also radiates comfort and nostalgia. “Grandpa Core” consists of quirky knitwear, loafers, baseball caps, faded shirts, worn-out denim pants, oxford shirts, rugby shirts, corduroy pants, wrist watches, and anything with a retro or vintage vibe. Fashion icons such as Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner and Tyler the Creator have slayed in the “Grandpa Core” looks. 

The essence of this trend is to dress as if you've spent a lifetime assembling a unique collection of clothing and accessories that reflect your individuality. However, like all micro trends, it involves acquiring these items almost instantly. The eclectic grandpa style is focused on commercializing the concept of personal style without truly possessing it.


2. Sheer Fabrics

Sheer fabrics are an ideal way to instantly elevate a simple outfit, adding minimalistic sophistication to your wardrobe this season. Making a strong comeback for Summer 2024, the sheer fashion trend is evident in various forms. From skirts and dresses to tops and even socks, it's everywhere.  


3. Slim Sneakers 

The street-style crowd has declared that slim trainers are the go-to for this summer. Adidas Sambas remain as popular as last summer. Finding those Sambas in stock might be a challenge. Classic designs from brands like Puma, Nike, and Gola are also experiencing a surge in popularity. Whichever pair you pick, pair them with white crew socks for the complete look.

While Adidas Sambas have been celebrities' favourite sneakers in recent years, the Gazelles are now experiencing a resurgence. This spring, one of the most notable footwear trends among global celebrities is the Adidas Gazelles. Last month, actor Emma Watson was seen wearing a navy blue pair in Milan during Fashion Week. Just earlier this week, supermodel Gigi Hadid was spotted sporting a red suede pair while grocery shopping in New York City. Now, I.N. is showcasing the trend from Seoul, South Korea.
